Ariane joined our research group in September 2022 as a master's student in epidemiology at the School of Public Health at the University of Montreal. Ariane earned a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Montreal in 2021, followed by a certificate in Public Health Prevention and Promotion from the School of Public Health at the University of Montreal, earned in 2022. Ariane's thesis project aims to characterize the genetic variability involved in the effects of alcohol on the incidence of type 2 diabetes, with a particular focus on differences between sexes. She plans to use the prospective cohort UK Biobank to identify genetic variations that modify these effects, as well as the molecular and biological pathways involved. She is supervised by Marie-Pierre Dubé.
